The 8 metre class sloop Raven is a 1938 Alfred Mylne design restored in 2008/2009 by the Gyles boatyard in Thornbury, Ontario. Steve was originally brought in only to design a new stem fitting for the boat, but as many restoration projects do, the extent of the task grew. Design changes included new chainplates, cabin house, cockpit layout, winch platforms, traveler structure, custom deck fittings, logo, cove detail, sliding mast step, and rating optimization. Raven was relaunched in 2009 and won the North American 8M championships SIRA class (for non-modern 8 metres).
